Vim and Unicode

I just learned that Vim 6 supports Unicode encoding. I accidently found it in on a message board how to do it.

1) Open vim
2) type :set enc=utf8 or :set encoding=utf8 (Enter)
3) make sure the font you are in can support the characters involved ( I used the ‘Edit’ drop down menu and selected ‘Sim Sum’ for Japanese characters

And tada… Japanese characters were showing and capable of being saved (Even had a friend who reads Japanese verify it). From what I read vim uses utf8 internally now. This is pretty cool stuff.
