Google IM… Hmm. Will try it out. hehe – like I need another IM. already have msn, jabber, yahoo, and skype.
Well, Google Talk is just another jabber service, so of course you don’t need it if you’re going to keep your current jabber account. But at this point you can’t switch either since they don’t have any of their DNS SRV records set up yet so Google Talk is isolated from the rest of the jabber world. There are also a few privacy concerns, mainly with their own client. I’ve written a bit about it in my blog entry on Google Talk. But once it’s talking to the rest of the world, I welcome it!
