Pope Has High Fever From Urinary Infection
I am catholic. Not a practicing catholic - actually a twice a year catholic (Christmas and Easter). And yet the thought of the pope passing on is highly disturbing to me.
Maybe it is because he is the only pope I can remember. maybe it is because when I think of him I still see the strong, tall man standing between Reagan and Gorbachov.
Odd isn’t it - how even to one who has admittedly strayed and is not yet willing to go back, the pope is still my spiritual leader. Still the focal point of my faith.
May the Lord bless him and keep him safe.

Yahoo! News - Pharmacists’ Rights at Front Of New Debate
While I can sypmothize with someone following their own conscience, I also feel that access to basic medical assistance is also required. So many layers of grey. I know which side I tend to lean toward. Do you?

Happy Easter everyone. Due to a long and complicated story (which I will save you from) we missed sunrise service. Kayla also didn’t want to go to the Easter egg hunt - says she is too old for things like that. So basically we stayed home and cleaned. Not what I would call a nice way to spend Easter, but it did need to be done.
Kayla didn’t receive an Easter basket this year - instead we got her an ipod shuffle. She is getting into the whole music thing. We told her that it is her Easter and birthday present so not to go looking at us in November
.
All in all - it has been a quiet day. Kinda cool.

Finally remembered how to submit a SQL line to an Access database. I knew it was possible just couldn’t remember how to do it.
- In the Database window, click Queries under Objects, and then click New on the Database window toolbar.
- In the New Query dialog box, click Design View, and then click OK.
- Without adding tables or queries, click Close in the Show Table dialog box.
- In the View menu (at the top) click on SQL View.
- Type in (or copy and paste) your SQL.
- Click the red exclamation point or go to the Query menu and click Run.
Do that as many times as you need to and skip all the M$ stuff tha gets in the way.

Yahoo! News - Congress Vote May Prolong Schiavo’s Life
The courts have already ruled ladies and gentlemen - the tube is to be removed. The doctors have spoken, the husband has asked because she asked, the courts have listened, sympathized and made their ruling. Why must you prolong this?

Well it has been a pretty industrius weekend for us. Jason finished installing/fixing the gates for our new fence around the backyard while Kayla and I (and later Jason) did yard work (mowing, trimming, pruning, weedwacking, ect.). With a half to 3/4 acre lot it takes a while and we all work up a sweat. After that Jason and Kayla completed her science fair project (it dealt with electricity) with different results then everyone was expecting. Now Jason needs to take all the wires, batteries and stuff and put it onto a board for Kayla to bring in.
Sunday - we went to the kite festival. Kayla has been bugging us to go. And what happens on the day of it - she wants to stay home instead. Go figure. So Jason and I with the 2 dogs went and left Kayla home to do her own thing (she is getting to that age). We don’t normally let her stay home alone but the past 2 weekends we have. She absolutely did not want to go out with us when we played golf and for the kite festival. Guess it is time to start letting go.
Anyway - for the kite festival - we of course forgot the camera so there are no pictures. Next weekend is Easter (wonder if Kayla will stil want to do the easter egg hunt) and the weekend after is the dog show. Hopefully I will remember the camera so we can add a few pictures to the gallery.

Yahoo! News - Senate Approves Drilling in Alaska Refuge
I am sorry - but this is wrong. I understand that it will make us less dependant on foreign imports. So would a bill that forced the auto manufactures to produce more efficent vehicles. Oh - forgot for a second that the car makers are also BIG donaters. Hmmm - money from car makers vs. a few animals (who have no voting rights). It’s a no brainer which way they went.

Well my class is up and running. Using a little bit of test data in the DB and a simple script - I got it working. So what happens…. I get an IM telling me that I am now to code the class in php4 - seems the hosting service for the dedicated server we are using - refuses to load php 5 on it (says it isn’t stable). What a load of crap! It’s my darn server - put on it what I tell you.
Anyway… had to convert it over to 4. Kinda sucked since I was using all of php5’s newest OO capabilites but it wasn’t hard. Retested and it works. Now I have to modify/add to my 6500 lines of code to work with it. Kinda looking forward to it.
Boss asked my what my current time table is for completion. Figure about 6 months. Was explaining that the reporting feature of the program is a program all by itself and will take awhile to do since most of it - I am learning about as I go. And heaven knows I know more about how internationalization and email works then I ever wanted to. Keep reminding myself that no knowledge is ever wasted.
Well time to get back and hack away.
